Familiar with the estate layouts
Tadley's post-war housing repeats the same handful of heating layouts. Knowing where the pipework runs before lifting a floorboard saves hours, and hours are what an hourly rate bills for.

Local coverage
Tadley is eight miles north of the Basingstoke base, a direct run up the A340 through Baughurst and Pamber Heath. It is one of the closer RG26 towns and is served regularly, which matters when a boiler fails in February and the difference between help this week and help next week is simply how far the van has to travel.
The town's housing has a very particular history. Tadley grew rapidly through the 1950s, 60s and 70s around employment at Aldermaston, and much of the stock dates from that expansion: consistent estate housing, a lot of it originally fitted with heat-only boilers, vented cylinders and back boilers, then converted piecemeal over the following decades. Newer infill and small developments have gone up since, alongside the older properties in Tadley Common, Pamber Heath and Baughurst that predate the expansion entirely.
In practice that means Tadley generates a steady stream of replacement and remedial work rather than showpiece new-builds: converting tired heat-only systems to condensing combis, flushing out systems that have circulated the same water for thirty years, replacing failed cylinders, and putting right the accumulated effect of successive part-repairs. It is honest, unglamorous work, and having seen the same estate layouts repeatedly makes the diagnosis quicker and the quote more accurate.

Not every ageing boiler needs replacing. At £90 + VAT per hour a diagnosis and repair is often the right call, and you get told when it is — and when it genuinely is not.

Local conditions
Building age, construction, water and exposure decide what goes wrong and what the honest fix is. These are the patterns that come up here.
A large number of Tadley systems have circulated the same untreated water since installation. The result is magnetite sludge sitting in the bottom of every radiator, which is why they are cold at the base and hot at the top, and why the pump and diverter valve fail early. Powerflushing plus inhibitor and a magnetic filter is the correct sequence, and doing it before fitting a new boiler is what keeps the manufacturer's warranty intact rather than voided.
Many back boilers here were replaced by simply siting a combi elsewhere and abandoning the old pipework in place. Dead legs, capped tees behind plasterboard and redundant vent pipes then cause air locks, noise and pressure loss for years afterward. Putting it right means tracing and removing the redundant sections properly, not adding another bleed valve.
A 1960s house was piped for a gas fire and a small boiler. Fit a modern high-output combi on the original 15mm supply and it will starve under load, dropping pressure and locking out precisely when demand is highest. The gas pipe run is checked and calculated at survey, and any upgrade is priced into the quote rather than discovered on the day.
The bungalows around Tadley are often still on a single thermostat in the hall and manual valves everywhere else, which means the hall is warm and the bedrooms are not. Thermostatic radiator valves, a properly located room stat and correct balancing usually transform comfort for a fraction of the cost of the new boiler that gets suggested first.
Our process
The same five steps on every job, whether it is a CP12 or a full central heating installation.
01
Speak to Beth or Sam on 07825 758511, or send the quote form. You get a straight answer on whether it is a quotable job or an hourly one.
02
The property is looked at properly — flue route, gas supply, mains pressure, system condition — so the price is based on the building, not a guess.
03
A written price covering everything discussed. Once issued it is fixed: the figure agreed is the figure invoiced.
04
Sam carries out the work himself, protects the property, and leaves the site clean. No subcontracted strangers.
05
Paperwork, registration and warranty documents issued, with a one-year workmanship guarantee and up to ten years on a new boiler.

It is roughly eight miles from the Basingstoke base straight up the A340, so it is a short run. Actual booking depends on the week's diary. Working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with out-of-hours emergency call-outs available for no heat, no hot water and leaks.
Installations start from £1,900 + VAT, with the exact figure depending on the appliance, the existing system and any gas supply or flue work needed. The survey and quote are free and the price is fixed once given. No travel surcharge applies to Tadley.
Yes, including out of hours, for no heat, no hot water and leaks. Call 07825 758511 and you will speak to someone directly.
Usually yes, on the grounds of parts availability and efficiency, but the honest answer depends on the property. The survey establishes the flue route, gas supply capacity and condensate route before any recommendation, and both options are explained with figures.
If they are cold at the bottom and hot at the top, or the boiler is noisy under load, almost certainly. Powerflushing is quoted after inspecting the system, and it is strongly recommended before a new boiler goes on an old system so the manufacturer's warranty is not compromised.
Yes, £90 + VAT per certificate, arranged around tenants, with the certificate issued promptly after the inspection.
